Residentials

Residentials provide our students with the opportunity to try new things, be out of their comfort zones and gain independence.  For parents, residentials offer a couple of nights with our students away with trusted adults from school who give up their time to support.

We are delighted to be linked with both Pioneer Centre and Whitemoor Lakes for our two-night Summer residentials.

Pioneer Centre is offered to our Roots learners and students in year 6.  Pioneer offers a more sensory environment and has hoists in the bedrooms to enable any student to access.  Activities at Pioneer include climbing, archery, zip line – all of which are wheelchair friendly.

Whitemoor Lakes is more suitable for our older students – offering water sports as well as archery, zip line and climbing etc which are all wheelchair friendly.

Once students are in Sixth Form they are offered Duke of Edinburgh which includes a camping trip.  Hence, students are not repeating the same kind of residential each time they choose to attend and have different experiences each time.

Parents will receive information about residentials for the following year in the Summer term, allowing as much notice as possible.  We do not want money to be a barrier and have charities who generously help us take all students, regardless of their financial situations.
