Executive Head’s Welcome

“I am delighted to welcome you to Evergreen School.

A bit about me – I have dedicated my whole career to special education and have experience supporting our wonderful children and young people across all age groups. My previous roles across the school(s) include leading post-16 provision, Head of Accreditation, Deputy in Primary, Head Teacher in Primary, Executive Head Teacher of Primary and Secondary and now Head Teacher of the recently amalgamated schools.

I have learnt so much in my journey over the last decade but can honestly say I love every single day at this school, and it is a privilege and honour to be Head Teacher. Our children and young people are utterly amazing, and I am committed to making every single day the best day possible for them. This, of course, could not be done without my inspiring and highly skilled colleagues, and I can tell you right now we have the most magnificent staff team here at Evergreen. The practice I see each day in school is innovative, exciting and inspirational, but most importantly, our staff care deeply about, and want the very best for, every child and young person.

My leadership ethos and philosophy is simple, we put our children, young people and families at the heart of everything we do, and we work to everyone’s strengths, skills and passions. This growth mindset approach enables our children, young people, colleagues and stakeholders to be themselves, and thrive without risk of being judged. Evergreen is a community where we support each other every day and celebrate achievements at every level. I am passionate about our children and young people having exciting and new experiences each day and having their needs met with love, care and dignity. I am passionate about colleagues being empowered to share their passions and life experiences to the benefit of our community. We only have one childhood, and it is our responsibility, in close collaboration with our families, to ensure that it is the best it can possibly be for our children and young people”
